Bangkok has hosted three previous stagings of the Asian Games and the city isexperienced in organizing international sports events. Bangkok is a popular venue, dynamic economic growth contrasting with　a serene　cultural heritage,　modern hotels and office buildings blended into a land- scape of golden temples and a network of canals. It is one of Asia's favorite tourist destintions, with top-class facilities to match.

The　Bangkok Asian　Games Organizing　Committee (BAGOC) has the full support of the Thai Government and the sports community. It will handle all the logistical aspects of this huge sports event and its associated cultural festival.
